Immediately after the release of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister & PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, the politics in the valley have heated up. Omar & Farooq Abdullah's met Mehbooba Mufti recently. Today, a key meeting was called by NC Chief Farooq Abdullah that included all the signatories of Gupkar Declaration. The meeting was attended former chief ministers Omar Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti over Jammu & Kashmir's special status and Article 370.

After the meeting, opposition formed 'People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration. Farooq Abdullah said that they will fight constitutionally. The questions is - Special status now history? Watch India Today's special show Newstoday with Rajdeep Sardesai.

I respect Abdullah very much. there is something should be clear first:
1. Democracy means "Majority rule", but does not mean all the decisions made by the majorities are correct, therefore to avoid the mistakes made by the majorities, there is a need for Freedom.
2. Freedom means "Protection the fewer"
these two aspects for the base of the law of a country, and is the base of a country's constitution.
These two things need to work together, for example, if Majority just want to kill those who have objections to majorities, that is not real "democracy", the few opposition party should be protected for their opinions, that is the freedom provided for them.
abolish article 370 violated the will of JM and Kashmir people, although in the name of democracy, it violated the freedom right of JM and Kashmir, it is a violation of India's own constitution.
