The RTX 4080 is here, but will it surprise or disappoint with a 50% price hike compared to the previous RTX 3080? Well at least its still cheaper than a 4090, and we’ll see how they compare.
For that let's take a look at the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4080. Recently I did my review of the RTX 4090 Gaming OC which pricing and power aside delivered crazy performance, absolutely destroying games in 4K. But now will the 4080 surprise me the same? Let’s find out.

Every game i play runs smooth as silk with max settings on a 1440p 240hz monitor.

I would appreciate your help. I want to buy this model and I saw that you were able to fit it in a Corsair 4000D case. I have a Phanteks p400A and the cooling for my processor (5900X) is a Noctua nhd15-s and I don't know if it will fit in my length + width case with this cpu cooler (nhd15-s)

Amazing performance and a good looking GPU. Asus has been using the extra Pwm fan headers on their Strix cards since as early as the Pascal series i believe. It's a nice feature to have especially when the motherboard is shy on fan headers. Thanks for the video!

I love my 4080 S TUF, its dead silent, no coil whine whatsoever and I like the look of it wayyyy better then the strix!

Oof that coil whine is a bit of a deal breaker for me.
Are any of the other 4080's doing this? Becuase so far I've only heard this specific card doing it

I had such bad coil whine on the strix 4080 I dropped down to a strix 4070TI with no coil whine, it's just a lottery

i just bought one of these for 1100. sold my 3090ti to buy it. mine has 0 coil whine as well. pretty happy with it.

My case was too narrow to fit past the back side panel frame, I had to get some metal scissors and cut out a piece to fit it into my rig lol. I can tell you this is a great card running at 2k resolutions on all games, from Star Citizen, to Escape from Tarkov, to Cyberpunk 2077, this game shreds frames like a cheese grater grating cheese, no problems at all, , all the while running cool, staying under 60C under long periods of gaming, + 2 hours or more.
The major downside is that because of that plug coming out of the side, I cant put my siade panel on my case because it will press down on the cord too hard

Coil whine is due to the PSU not handling the load. Once you get the proper PSU, it will go away. Don't blame the card

Think I'll keep my money for the 5080. For now I'll keep my evga 3080ti.
