I don’t know why Mattel is surprised Ghoulia is selling less when both of her dolls were Target exclusives and automatically harder to get esp internationally.. not to mention her first doll was a hot mess. 😭

Ghoulia really needs an core refresh and proper styling of her character with her RED color in the palette! And not packaged in boxed where you see her so we can see how well she has improved.

Wow, I did not expect that comic book to go fully off the rails, so yeah glad it got cancelled but hopefully they will make a better one soon. Poor Ghoulia...she is so cute and deserves better.

Notice how Mattel is blaming the consumers instead of considering that the G1 style is superior to G3? (both story-wise and doll-wise)

in canada she just randomly became a indigo exclusive that people had to just discover because there was no info about it. like freaking duh she didn't sell well she only sold in a book store.

I feel like we are going to get a new ghoulia in like a year. They are going to go extra hard on her design and will count on both the redisgn and the possibility of there being no new dolls of her will push even more sales from the people who know the news about how hard it will be to see her again. Both gaming and drag (since she seems to like it on g3) are stuff that has so much potential, but these themes are very detail oriented which is why this cant be fully shown with wave 1's low details on paint and how neon frights was a very weak line when it came to everyone who wasnt twyla and toralei.
Also, i am not surprised the comics got killed by the book. The book was what happens when u throw everything to the wall, hoping something stick. And the comics while apparently not being conected directly with the book as after the book's plot leaked they ended up saying it wasnt canon cause people hated it, the only comic's thing people actually liked was the short Spelldon and Valentine story

I fear Ghoulia s desmise is due to her lack of importance in the show reboot !
She used to be such a core character back in the day:being Cleo s sideckick and best friends, her love story with SloMo ...and she was THE brain, the geek, of the team .
Now she s a secondary character(nearly a background one )and l miss her all black/red trademark look...
In France and UK she s a Smyths toys exclusive.
If Mattel to have her back on track l think they should rewrite her character in the show or sell her as a 2pack .
Coz l fear that if they keep on producing only Clawdeen, Draculaura, Frankie and Cleo, the line will not last as long as expected...

I hate that g3 Ghoulia has had so much hate. Like I get she’s probably had the biggest change overall from her g1 counterpart but I honestly loved her design. And I get the fans want more red for her instead of pink but I feel like the pink goes better with her new skin tone and the red went better with her gray skin tone of g1. I would love if we could at least get some g3 fashion packs and get a couple for her with pants. Her face and hair are gorgeous in g3 and I love the new skater style

I called it, MH G3 would fizzle out esp. with them getting cheper and cheaper and all the reuse in items too. I said this last year and it is coming to fruition .

Ghoulia is (with Toralei) my favorite MH doll ! This doll is so EVERYTHING ! I can't believe they took such a bad decision ! They don't respect their customer ! collectors or children !
I do agree with you the G3 core Ghoulia is the most beautiful one.I just would have preferred a darker lipstick : at least neon rose if they didn't want her usual red color. But still, she's absolutely beautiful and her look and accessories, the best ones !

At my local comic shop in the US, they could not keep the comic in stock because it sold so well. I wonder if this is a reaction to the LGBTQ pairings, the death of Dracula and other issues you mentioned. As far as the G3 doll line ... it's interesting that seem hesitant to release new/different characters and keep giving us multiples of the same characters. Draculaura will always be number 1 due to popularity but expand the rooster!
