I am a GK. We don't recruit..we act...and when men see how active we are in the parish they want to join. All our fundraising is done for a purpose as well. Thank you for this video.

At the age of 52, a little less than 4 years after I retired from the US NAVY, in December 2008 I became a Knight in the 1st Degree. I have met so many Great Knights that have help me and others. Have held several Officer positions in my Council and Assembly; Currently am the District Deputy, in my 3rd Year. The Knights of Columbus have guided me to be a better Catholic, to think of others, and develop friendships with Men that have the common goals to support our Parish, strengthen in Faith, and be caome a better husband, Father, and Grandpa to my growing family. Vivat Jesus.

All very good points! Those that aren't on the playing field tend to boo from the seats. Very well said that we need more men helping to improve from within. Help us help you. Great video guys!

Good morning guys, as someone who is considering joining the Knights, I appreciate this video. And honestly people need to realize as with the KOC’s or any other organization, THERE ARE NO PERFECT CLUBS OR PEOPLE!

I am a prodigal son of the K of C. I have recently come back, because i feel the need to help young men ( 18-40). The missionary guy and you guys both have good points. I want to hear more about "mentorship" what would that look like? Also I believe that the 18-40 year old crowd don't have or know how to get a real community of men or we don't know where to find it. For all of our connectivity we are pretty disconnected from each other. Let's be honest the meetings are the bare bones for a council and to sit through it just to have the 30 mins of social afterwards is exhausting. What about just a weekly social for knight or young men who want it? I am in the works to make my local council better, but this is a national need for all men of the church. There is a lot more on my heart and I am hoping it is God leading me to help bring about a rejuvenation of this Saints vision that Father Mgivney began.

Steve the missionary brought up valid points that are a major concern for my local council.
The two of you make valid points as well, but you are pushing the same status quo.
Changing times call for changing methods.
Brother Knights I ask you this question: If my old broken clock is only correct twice a day and it’s 118 years old, isn’t it time to admit the clock is beyond repair?
I still have a need to tell time, I just need a new device to do it with.
Vivat Jesus!

Through Programs your Councils Story is told and through these Programs /Activities/Events are what attract and retain men and their families. And when these men use their Talents and Skills to create newer ideas and Programs that meet the needs that are relevant to your Councils passions. Thus allowing others to a stronger future not only for the Councils but also for the Councils Parish's community that helps support our Priest and his Parishioners

If each ultra sound machine helps save one life, that would be a thousand, but I am sure it will save millions through time.

Do you have to be a catholic to join? Can you be a baptized Christian? Baptist

I thought the reasons weren't clear. I did hear the message, "Come join and fix it" but there wasn't reasons to do that. The reasons provided were "relationships you guys developed".

That is doomed to fail. You can't go into a good old boys club and start telling them how they can do things better. Moreover, you can't get mentorship from those who haven't developed an internal mentorship program. Sure you can get mentorship from an anecdotal experience. I'm talking about programs embedded in the organization.
