That's a lot like ADD can actually be. When you find something stimulating you hyperfocus on it, and get grumpy when someone distracts you from it.

Actually there's something like this in actual ADD, called hyperfocusing. If a person with ADD is interested in something they're doing, they go into hyper focus and become very fixated on doing the interesting thing. They can even neglect basic maintenance (such as eating or sleeping), and they do get rather upset at being pulled out of hyper focus. As an ADD person myself, this happens when I'm doing things such as college searching or writing on my own time. When a bell rings, or I'm called down to eat, I get rather irritated at having my concentration broken and not being able to go back for a while.

+Matthias Strangely enough, ADD and ADHD people go into this mode. It's called hyperfocusing (I happen to do it a lot when solving puzzles).
