Hi Lon, thanks for the video. Everybody suggests getting a new laptop with at least 16 gb of ram nowadays, but its difficult to find one under $650 with a good screen and durable case. Web browsers and windows eats up more ram with every update and I think its pretty lame that companies usually don't offer an extra ram slot anymore, particularly in 13 and 14 inch models. Anyway, I was wondering how long you think 8 gb of ram will be usable for normal users that dont game or code. With all of the innovation going on in cpus right now, do you think it makes sense to spend a lot now ($1000 +) to buy a laptop with 16 GB ram, the latest ryzen cpu, bright display, etc. Or wait a couple years until 16 gb of ram and higher core count cpus are sold at more affordable prices?

heat running multiple apps, games? Run zoom without issues? Light video editing and rendering? Iris vs MX350 real world? Apparently, more than a few ppl make videos for Youtube. Why do reviews talk so much about gaming on a biz laptop?

In the UK the Ryzen 5 4500U version is £30 cheaper than the Core i5-1035G4 version and neither of them have the NVIDIA GeForce MX350.

It's because either there is thermal throttling or the mx 350 is configured for 10 watt

I can't seem to find the MX350 model in stores. The good part is that there is the 16GB RAM variety.

Hey! You should check out the chuwi hipad x. For $260 on ebay you get a tablet [6+128], keyboard case and active stylus. It's fairly new and I can't find any reviews on it

Hi Lon can I suggest you include BIOS options for further laptop reviews? The setting I'm looking for particularly is auto power on, it's a very niche feature on laptops but existed on some Thinkpad models AFAIK. The reason is, with thunderbolt and built-in battery and low power/noise, laptops can be salvaged running as home server when they're disused, I have a few collecting dust and I believe there are people like me who wants to push the manufacturers to standardize this option to protect our investments and the earth. Thank you.
