He received $1000 from his grandmother when he was 12, bought bitcoins and kept it. There is a lot of millionaire high school kids today thanks to bitcoin. Stop treating them as if they were some financial experts because they are not! Yes, they made a good decision few years ago (well, a 12 year did not spend it on silk road lol), and that's all. No strategies or speculations here. I've seen some of these kids donating ridiculous amount of money (I've seen $100.000) to twitch streamers, because they liked the minecraft videos...

If bitcoin were banned, we would just continue to hodl it on our hardware wallets until it was inevitably legal again. Gold was illegal at one point in the USA as well

If I was him, and had made millions, and really believed it was going to be the future (meaning the value of bitcoin will inevitably increase) I'd still cash out the vast majority as money in my bank account, which can't decrease or disappear if bitcoin suddenly goes bust. And then put a small amount bank in to the cryotocurrency and let it continue to build again like it did first time around.
