For the feel not to change, use same frame same specs just different wheels and tires. I’d use heavy duty mavic open pro + bontrager hard case tires… and change on race day to light tubulars… don’t forget to train on tubulars from time to time also because the tires are much more round and corner a lot better so it needs some getting used to also

Disc brakes are great for downhill because they grip way better so you can attack the corners harder
