NOW....Hoarding Copper Pennies are at 2.68 Cents Each. What will copper pennies be at next month? Will you still be able to find copper pennies next year- is the supply already slowly falling? The Feds may quite making pennies altogether next soon. The current price is more than double your value when you hoard copper pennies. BTW, this is a good box for hoarding copper pennies. Check it out.

Always enjoy these hunts. Its like hunting myself without doing the work.

I'm up to about 80lbs of copper started last year in mid-Novermber and have been storing mine in a 5 gallon bucked with lid, similar to those food grade storage buckets. Downside is its nearing the point of being unmovable at a little less than 1/2 full 😂For storage sake its nice and easy!!! Eventually (when full) will need to move the bucket into my garage with a dolly but for now it works.

I thank you again for sharing this hunt with us. And for sharing that story.
I was wondering how it was going to end. 1) running out screaming? Or 2) running out for a box of condoms? Lol.
Sir, you are a gentleman. Take care. 👍

Would you rather find 10 run of the mill wheat pennies or one run of the mill 1909

My first metal detector was out of a Sears catalog in the '70s, I saved my grass cutting money to get. it. It cost around $27 and I found LOTS of stuff with that old detector. Now I've graduated a couple times to a Garret AT/Pro.

So I hear you talking about being slowed down I was there. So I started just narrowing my search down to the 82’s 83’ small date the Close AM’s and wide, d-ear or RPM.
Wheats of course I scan every but I put all those in a bigger bucket for when things slow down. Now I do pay attention to anything with a S
This has allowed me to find some good coins and keep blazing. Unless it’s a DD that’s $$$

You can put painter's tape on your pliers. Might make it a bit easier.

i save copper pennies when they cross my path generically. i always wanted to search boxes for them, just never got around to it.

If you have a Staples office supply store they carry flat clinch staplers. Then you don't need your pliers.

I've noticed better success when you open the boxes with your spyderco. :o)
I used to get the New American magazine delivered. I still have a couple issues (Murrah building demolition and Waco).

I subscribed and have been watching, and would you once again go through the penny coins you would save besides the copper ones. Thanks

I subscribed today and have a 1962 shiny penny and noticed the other 1962 is not. Why? What is the difference in colorations?

Shib is one I buy too. Who knows maybe one day enough could be burned to take it to one cent. It’s got a good community around it
