Great lesson. My teachers would just say learn the patterns in all positions in all scales in all styles. So I spent hours learning patterns without knowing how to use them.

Very nice instructional video Mat. I would emphasize the landing notes when you change chords because most new guitar players know the "root" on the bass strings. A song may be in the key of "A" major, but during the progression goes to D major and E major, the "landing" notes are important as you play lead even though the song is in A major if you're going to play lead following the chord changes. Make more of these instructional videos and thanks doing this one. Always enjoy watching and listening to you play. Keep up the good work!
