Harbor Freight's Bauer Modular Toolbox First Look! Milwaukee has Packout, Dewalt has TSTAK and Tough System, Ridgid has their Pro System, and even Ryobi has their new Link system. Well, Harbor Freight has thrown their hat in the ring with their own MRT system. There is a lot of great things about it and one or two parts that might need work. Let us know what you think.

Thanks to HF for sending this item over for review!

After just 1 month of use in construction. It was great. Untill the locking/unlocking tabs got dirty and filled with dust. It was impossibe to unlock and tear down the boxes. My fix was a small amount of lubricant. The main boxs besides the milkcrate are all gasket seald so they definitely survive in the back of a truck in the rain 👍

Looks like a nice solution for many people. Always nice to see a father and son working together as well!!

I live in Vegas! I’m an apprentice plumber out here and honestly I goto your reviews of harbor freight products all the time! I’m a true believer in Bauer power so this is great! One of the plumbers I work with has the full Milwaukee pack out and the only upside comparatively speaking is that blue tooth speaker he has. Other than that not much difference in effectiveness. I appreciate all the reviews! Great channel!

Thank you so much for your insightful videos on rolling tool storage systems.

I just purchased two Rigid systems for my 24 yo son to store & transport his mobile DJ accessories (extension cords, surge protectors, computer cables, etc.) He is hard on his stuff so I wanted something tough and waterproof for him to lug accessories across rough terrains (fields, snow, gravel parking lots, stairs). He has been using backpacks and duffel bags which requires him to make multiple trips between his car and the venue to set up and take down his equipment. I'm hoping the RIGID rolling system will make his life easier and also help him keep his accessories organized (and also keep them out of sight when they are being stored in our garage.)

Now I'm looking at the Husky system for the family mechanical & woodworking tools that we store in our garage. We will be moving the system around the garage, depending on the project. I don't see us transporting our tools outside our property, so I don't need the toughest system. But I do want a variety of boxes, like drawers & cantilever options. So for those reasons, I have ruled out the HF system.

Thanks again for all the good information you share in your videos.

I got a Tactix system from Sam's this past christmas and the stacking parts look the same and will work with each other.

Our biggest problems with this system is keeping them in stock... And yes, the clips do work themselves out. Too soon to know if they wear themselves down too far..

I use Rigid and Husky for different types of stuff and i love them both for what they do. I move around with the Rigid boxes more frequently and I've never had a problem. I use my Husky for electronics and irritation tools and the cantilever box is by far my most used in that system.

Just bought the main wheeled box and the basket today. Hoping to purpose this as an economical camping chuck box setup.

I used to do a carpentry work and ironwork when I got out of high school for a few years. I got into sales but I recently took a weekend gig installing melamine closet organization systems and picked this storage system up to keep my work tools all together and stored at home so they are easy to load up when I need them. I have a lot of nicer high end tools at home but for my work tools it's all Ryobi power tools and a lot of HF clamps, bits, hammers, mallet, screwdrivers, pliers, pry bars and some other things. I definitely have some name brand tools thrown in like my Warner painters tool, Diablo saw blades, empire levels and squares etc but so far nothing I've purchased from HF in the last year has let me down. I did however only buy Doyle plyers, Bremen clamps and vice grips, Bauer and Hercules bits etc so I'm getting the best HF has to offer but it's a really good value. I don't really use socket sets at work but the socket set I have is TEKTON. Pretty much all of my automotive tools are TEKTON and they are the best value I've found.

Great review & yes a 4K road trip is a good test for vibration. I have Dewalt’s T stack 1.0 for a few years now. And I still love it! Goes in & out of my truck easily enough and nothing has broken…yet lol.
This might be an option for those just starting out in the trades. Instead of paying $300 for a pack out system, money saved for tools that let you make money. IMO

Congratulations on the RV! Camping is a great way to see many places & make a lot of memories…enjoy!

Personally I think it's a great starter solution. Looks like a pretty robust system. I'm sure they'll add options to it later. Everyone and their brother is all about the Milwaukee pack out, I think that system is outrageously priced! Have to give up an arm and your first born child to get it.

For those wondering, these tool boxes are the exact same as the Masterforce stacking boxes sold at Menards. Just color differences… same thing as we all know with most Craftsman and Stanley boxes being exactly the same but stores charge more for the Craftsman boxes.

I wish they would have worked in some dividers in the milk crate box, that would be great to have for towels and rags when using these for an auto detailing setup.

Truly, of all the ones I like the Craftsman TradeStack. They have a Tote that works like a crate, and the huge Tool Bag that beats any bag on the market, even Husky, hands down. Still waiting on their organizer box but its got a T-Stack adapter for that. People say the plastic latches are a deal breaker, but actually they work quite well.

there are dividers for the unit at 6:30 but there are only two actual slots, which made no sense to me as there are plenty of other single ridges they could have made slots.

I want the bottom one just for my Serger (sewing). Can't find a decent case for those in Sewing stuff.

Good looking boxes but like you for a mobile tool tower that I would use on a job site I would really miss drawers. There isn't room to spread those boxes around on site and bending over to the ground to go through them is not an option. Now would I buy the kit, no. Would I buy individual boxes when on sale at a good price, yes. I will buy anyone's at a good price as I don't need them to stack just to store stuff and lug around.
If I were HF I would offer a combo deal of a starter set and a couple bauer/herc tools at a discount. Great for the homeowner to pick up a box and tools in one package price at an occasional sale.

When is the Hercules modular storage system coming out? Any insight info?

This looks identical to the wheeled kobalt roller that comes with the 5 xtr tools. I wanted to know if the other boxes would fit.
