I had the opportunity to tour this Fremont factory in summer 2011, before it went into full production. Amazing video.

To foresee this kind of vehicle affordable for the pocket and consumer friendly, the factory should be fully automated with few human technicians who will be able to maintain and control the automation. Automation means pre-programmed (robots and gadgets for) manufacturing process from incoming to outgoing. Costs of manufacturing and profit (+related taxes) creates the price of the product. Futuristic - it does not Hollywood sets and facades - it means (current) environmentally friendly non-hazardous or safe working place with no human-related complains/negligence. Anyways what are Mr. Elon Musk sciences and business for?
