Former US President Donald Trump hosts a campaign rally in Reno, Nevada.

Trump has gone back to the policy focus that launched him into the presidency in 2016 by placing immigration at the heart of his 2024 campaign, a strategy he hopes will help him secure a lead over Democratic rival Kamala Harris in the run-up to next month’s election.

He is also vowing to recreate the low-inflation economy of his first term to win over voters angry at the steep rises in prices and interest rates during Joe Biden’s four years in the White House.

Unlike his failed 2020 re-election campaign, when he did not even have a manifesto, Trump, 77, has made numerous pledges and set out plans that give American voters a real taste of his ambitions for a second term as US president.

My wife and I went to the rally at the GSR in Reno tonight but it had filled up and we couldn't get inl They added two more rooms, but it was filled to capacity. It was dissapointing, we really wanted to see him! Wish it could have been held in a larger venue! Luckiky we have been to rallies of his in the past! We enjoyed those!

I was at that rally yesterday 10/11/24 in Reno, Nevada. I got there early, was a long line but I got in. I gotta say, in person, Trump looks a lot smaller, the TV cameras make someone look bigger and grander, but then again I was a distance away from him, I’d say closer than 400 yards. The room was rather small and not everyone got in, but I had one of the best days of my life at the rally.
