In this episode I will show you how I salvage and test 18650 lithium-ion cells. All these batteries are taken from broken laptops, so the batteries should still have some good capacity left.

Can you create a video on why its bad to have cells with different capacities in parallel and also how to be safe when connecting cells and cells groups.

Hey Sorin my opus smart charger has an hidden charge voltage mode swich under the back cover remove the 4 screws to find it its hard to miss. You can even set it to 3.7v for storage purposes!
Just drill an little hole right above the switch and then put the back cover back on so you can switch it whenever.
Just found out while de dusting it.

One little blow against the Capitalist World thanks to you Sorin! I will be back in the shed today breaking open those laptop batteries that have been sitting there all during 2021. And maybe my ebike will finally get its new 36v battery.

So, DIY needs a lot of fancy and expensive tools. As usual.

TOSHIBA seems to be the worst brand for me to salvage batteries, they are always less than 1Ah on each cell when i test them. Even though the voltage was good when I got them.

LENOVO seems to have good cells.

Salut, Sorin! De unde faci rost de acele laptopuri? Aparatul acela masoara capacitatea reala a unei baterii? Mulțumesc!

Salut sorin . Îmi place treabă făcută de tine. Ai folosit imax B6 sc? Ce părere ai despre el? Mersi

Hey Sorin can you make a video about how to make projects with 18650 cells like the previous one where you were using AA batteries?

Very good information in apropriate amount of time. just dissasembled a pack today and i was too lazy to test anything other than internal resistance, and built it in another pack, voltage was exactly the same and internal resistance 142-135mR. seemed in very good condition to me, but since i was not charging them slowly im little worried. in pack they are assebled now they will be charged at 1.2A, is that okay and will keeping an eye on them when i charge them first time be enough?
