Definitely, but on it's own i don't think people will be disappointed with the 7a. I think if you can get a vanilla 7 on discount that's the best choice, 499 is starting to get a little pricey for a budget phone

C'mon, at $500 it's not a budget phone. And the 7 is not a flagship, it's a $600 midranger that's almost the same price of the 7a

I mean yeah pixel 7a does a pretty good job with the photos but you can see the difference in dynamic range and sharpness most of the time they look same but there is a huge difference in hdr...but yeah for a mid range phone it's pretty amazing

7a seems to make Becca's face more red/unnaturally saturated. Also both cameras turn clouds sharpening up to 12.

It's not budget at all. The price is more like a higher mid-tier tag. Furthermore, 7a has a more crippled camera s/w than the 7 and with this price, I will rather get the flagship 7.

Yes, $499 is budget now. People have a hard time to keep up with inflation. And $499 for a Pixel is a great deal because of its performance and camera quality.
