My father grew up in Southern California even though he was born in Michigan. You should eventually come to Reno, Nevada and explore the strip here. It's not as impressive as Vegas but it's impressive on its own.

I was there in 2008. Some of the stars on the Walk of Fame further away from the theaters were falling into disrepair. And I'm not talking about the President's star! Also, parking was not an issue as I was staying at some friends' home in a neighborhood just walking distance from there.

Was born and raised in LA, Hollywood ain't worth it imo. The only thing I like in that part of town is Amoeba and they want to close it down or move it. If you're ever in LA you're better off going to Olvera Street.
