The 5.56 Comeback? Recoil Reductions Could Save This Caliber

preview_player
Показать описание
Today we investigate the recoil buffs on 5.56 weapons which could make the difference between these guns being underused for another patch vs becoming competitive again! This time BSG have focussed on improving weapon recoil, with every gun getting some improvements except for the 5.56 MDR. In combination with the recent ammo buffs too, we’re getting very close to 5.56 being a good caliber again!

This affects recoil across the board, so the lowest recoil versions of these weapons is also improved, with the M4 going from 28 previously to 26 now.

Have you tried the updated 5.56 weapons since the update?

They need to do a .50 BMG buff since I'm convinced that's the first round coming out of most of these rifles on full auto.

It was never a recoil problem when they nerfed 5.56 guns, it's the initial kick after very first round that makes these guns unreliable because we have to compensate with whole strength to pull that gun with ~30-35 recoil to become laser as it was previously. All these guns don't need the " recoil buff " all they need is to remove that stupid initial kick for them.

Considering you used the B30 rail for the AK101 at 3:04 you can also use the B-33 dust cover instead of the bastion for 0.5 more recoil reduction :D

Honestly ive been running the AK 101 with the JMAC RRD-4C comp, MOE handguard with the foregrip that fits without rail (Cus it looks sick) Buttpad, SAW grip and KOBRA+shade as a cheap ass low recoil destroyer. 73 ERG for speedy ADS and 50 recoil which you barely feel with this firerate.
Wonderfull piece of kit for a good price (60K in mods including sight).

Anyone who has ever actually shot a 5.56 rifle knows that even after this buff, the recoil in the game is way too high for this caliber. Especially considering how your character is supposed to be a badass private military contractor.

Awesome, I was really wondering what these groupings looked like since the changes but hadn't had a chance to play with them yet. Excellent stuff as always :)

Gigabeef, as you're the best at these kind of videos. You should really revisit the Sound mechanics in Tarkov, especially now that Offline coop is a thing. I am using Razors, since they are cheap as hell this wipe on flee, due to apparently always being too expensive and not favored by community and consider them the best behind XCEL. They are also that in terms of rarity, behind XCEL and newest comtacs, and are clearly rated by BSG as third best in terms of pricing to vendors. And as I see it BSG did made them tiered, opposite to what community thinks, it's not just the sound pattern. I constantly hear shots my teammates don't hear. And they only start hearing it when shots get closer. This clearly indicates that I can hear further away than them most of the time. With starting prapor headphones people don't hear the other end of the Factory, while me wearing Razors I feell like I'm hearing everyone on the map all the time. You should revisit this, because nobody did that content yet.

Would also be nice, now that offline coop introduced. If you could just in general test out what we can and can not hear in our general vicinity. As in, what game sounds are audible to other players around you, at what distance, which UI sounds are there for you, and which are audible to your surroundings, for example at clear unobstructed visual, through walls, at what distance through walls, while being on 2nd and 3rd floor. While being outside on elevation like Custom fortress and someone runnning outside. As it is clearly consistent right now, apart from few glitched out places, but the rules for what you hear and not are clearly weird. Sometimes you hear people where you think you shouldn't, sometimes you don't hear people directly in front of you on stairs and so on.

I believe a video like that would blow up and you're one of the few meticulous enough creators who can pull it off correctly. And it would be super informative as right now, both experienced and beginnger players are extremely confused as to when they can be bold with their movement and when they can't be. While at the same time high end players are abusing these mechanics like mad putting everyone else at a disadvantage. Like when I stopped at a Scav village in woods on a second story of the house you can literally hear nothing from the first floor. You only hear a person full sprinting right next to you up the stairs. After I got killed like this a few times I am not abusing this when I think someone else is up there and win every fight. Such things are of big value for in game knowledge that can > in game skill, which I believe is what you're all about.

Honestly the 5.56 MDR and SCAR were already pretty great for their price so I bet they are monsters now.

The G36, when bipods become usable, I can see fulfilling an LMG role with the 60 or 100 round mags.

The first shot recoil on the M4 is absolutely insane compared to the other 5.56 weapons. What is the purpose for BSG implementing this discrepancy? Realism? Balance?

Love your content it helps a ton with builds

Other than the AK-101, the SCAR and G36 are honestly big winners here. While they don't exactly have great fire rate, they're extremely easy to control even at longer ranges on full auto, which makes them amazing as hell on maps like Lighthouse, Shoreline, etc.

MDR ergo build, red dot and 45 round magz, good fun

I've used the ak-102 a bit last wipe, the drip is totally worth it even if the stats are a bit worse

Honestly I appreciate the ak-102 just because it's a bit smaller. Short guns always feel easier for me to work with than a full length m4

Could you check out how lasers work now? I don't remember how it was before and I never had a friend to test, but now you can see other people's laser itself and not just dot very clearly. I did not know it was like this until once I saw big freaking red line coming from another pmc.
Also flashlights seem to beam through walls much worse now. At least scavs certainly beam their spotlights very hard at night.

Typically in games i like to reduce horizontal instead of vertical because i can just pull down. Im not sure if this is possible in tarkov but i like watching your videos because im thinking of getting the game.

Since I don't care to rush Grenadier, it was already gonna be a 5.56 summer. Never used the 5.56 AKs before, gonna have to give them a shot when I get Skier lvl 4.

I miss being able to pick up the TX-15 cheap on the flea a few wipes ago from people just buying it for the the thunder beast. Haven’t seen one in a while
