I think it still depends on your career. If you are engaged in data analysis or artificial intelligence, Python is enough. But in many scenarios, Python is not enough, and it's time to move up to other languages to complete the business. Finally, I would like to say that if you really want to work in IT industry, try not to choose Python as an introduction, because python's grammar is too simple, many programming principles are encapsulated by language developers, when you learn other languages will feel very painful，especially to learn static language. All I suggest is to choose a static language to start with, which is closer to the bottom level, so that we can better understand the knowledge of computer and operating system, which is very helpful for learning other languages in the future.

A professional would learn both. I tend to use Python when writing my server-side command line tools unless I need higher performance but usually it isn't a problem. But I write my servers in Go because it allows me to put both WebSocket and HTTP handlers in the same process without having to worry about concurrency and performance as much.

Python is the easiest tool to get new ideas to a working program, but when a project is maintained by different people for a long period of time especially without any "Unit Testing" it will be very frustrating that you have to debug each lines to find a bug.
On the other hand I recently exploring Go a lot, most of the speed comparisons with Python were usually with some high computation algorithms, but I don't think most of the jobs out there are just about that, we also have to see comparisons on handling Database and Serialization.
For example if we have a task to read from Database and return a JSON response, with Go I face some challenges when handling Database Null values and SQL fields to JSON Serialization, that became little tedious so I have to choose some third party libraries, but with Python its just straightforward and no external libraries were required.

Python interpreter cannot take 700 seconds for compilation. It is line by line execution. Or you used pycompile to pre translate to assembly code like.
