Not missing out on the Coronation Sovereign even if the mintage is pretty high and Royal Mint's pricing has reached new levels of absurdity - now approaching 2 times spot price. Quality is hit and miss - one proof already received has a copper spot. Numi, I don't know what your thoughts are but R.M. is seriously taking advantage of collectors *sigh*

What is the material of this die? Carbide? Patina looks interesring. Not very developed, maybe sillicon carbide? Very hard to get detail in this stuff.

Not exactly a mirror finish on the proof sov. Is that usual? Is it me just being fussy because it's on a big tv with a close up image?

I'm a bit confused... shouldn't a die have the wording and numbers reversed, or mirror image if you like ?
I got one of these proof sovereigns too... number 2299... nice coin but It's the last proof full sov. i'll be buying I reckon... a bit underwhelming tbh...
Have a few proof halfs so will stick with them if I get proofs again.
