I just got this model (2015 model) from a Goodwill for $4.99 with no remote. I wanted a dedicated 3D Blu-ray player instead of using my UBD-K8500 4K player for 3D discs. This will Accompany my BDJ5700 (2016 model also from Goodwill for $4.99 with remote ). My BDJ5700 survived the bootloop update as it never downloaded it and that remote also works with the BDJ5900. The BDJ5900 also survived the Bootloop update but had a weird problem where the main and setup menus for the player did not have any text other than Auto, On, and Off. Using the BDJ5700 as a reference l was able to get the BDJ5900 connected to the internet and download an update. The Current version was XX20.X and was updateable to XX21.X and that fixed the problem. That's probably why it was donated but l fixed it. Now l have 3 Samsung Blu-ray players all using the same Remote.

I watched a bd show (HEROES) on my Samsung bd-jm59 tonight (11-12-20). Being concerned of the so- called "bootlooping" and other tech issues that some folks have experienced, I've decided to test for myself and I'm happy to say that mine played FLAWLESSLY with no issues, although I haven't used this player in quite some time, maybe that's why I've had no issues, I don't know . Hopefully, all Samsung bd players will resume normal functions for everyone's sake.

Thanks for this video. You answered my question about if there is a light to show that it is on. Plus you saved me time on the phone and a trip down to Best Lie to find out. The remote is pretty nice and easy to navigate.

I got one I got a problem with mine every time I try to play a disc in it or play something streaming it cuts on and off a bunch of times I order it from target online I think 8 months ago but did not use it much what should I do

My dad bought one a while ago and I haven’t used it in a minute lol I lost the remote and accidentally reset the DVD player by holding one of the two buttons ☠️ hopefully I’ll learn something at the end of this video

I own a BD J5500 and it does not have WIFI connectivity, only Ethernet connection, which renders the online functionality pretty pointless.
