I think an easy solution to this is to have the campaign have a theme rather than no theme, because even though it limits the artist, it solves the problem of having repetitions

the problem with the situation of skins is that many people are just sick of the usual purple/dark edgy emo horns/dragon type of skin, we literally just got 2 of them an update ago, now people think that its basically pointless now to vote for future skin contest because all casual players (or moreover, the kids that play brawl stars) they will vote for the "edgy" type of skin, so what happens now is that the reputation of these future skin making contest will be base off from just the edgy type of palette of the art, you just have to make an artstyle like that and you'd automatically win, which pisses off a lot of people

I haven't seen this much vitriol in the supercell make campaign since the Colette incident. But yeah I've always felt that supercell tends to go with skins that don't necessarily look the best, but rather can be turned into an in game model the easiest. That's how they seem to choose their finalists for the polls at least

I feel a little bad now because I did vote for the purple one myself. I liked Admiral but its color scheme was too similar to Belle Goldhand imo, and all 3 of the other skins reminded me of skins on other brawlers so I just picked the one that changed her appearance the most and that I thought would win

Tbh, i also hate this. People always vote edgy skins and not good skins thanks to kids.

Also ancestral skin was picked way before the finalists. They just announced later on. Maybe its connected to a theme?
