‘Ender’s Game’ is a great example of a paradigm shifting ending. It elevates the story and brings moral complexity to the story. Great review!

This was my first SF read when I was 14 or 15. I read the first 3 and Enders Shadow back in the day. I really liked them as a kid and I'm going revisit them soon and try and read the first 4 Enders books since I've never read Children of the Mind. Great review.

I read Ender’s Game about two years ago and loved it. The audiobook narration was top notch! I knew nothing about the book and picked it up as it is always in booktubers top ten scifi. Booktubers all say that the second book, Speaker for The Dead is even better. Your video today was a reminder that I should try that one too.

Great review. I read it many years ago. The next book in the series is *completely* different and quite interesting. Haven’t read the others - must get around to that…

Good review! I do feel the nostalgia factor impacts a lot of folks' enjoyment of it. I tried it earlier this year, and it was a DNF. Something about the dialogue just turned me off to it, but I will try it again at some point.

I read Ender's Game quite a while ago and while I did really love certain aspects like the psychological manipulation of the children by every single adult and the ending is quite the spectacular reveal I didn't love it with quite the same fervour as some people do. Perhaps it's because I was an adult when I read it and not a teenager, although saying that it doesn't read like a YA book at all. I haven't read Speaker For the Dead or any of the other sequels but I do plan to eventually.

I have read Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, and am part way through Speaker for the Dead. I have enjoyed them all, but Ender's Shadow doesn't add much to the story. Speaker is a very different book, but highly enjoyable. I have been warned that the direction that the books in the first series (Ender) go, is a bit silly. The Shadow books are meant to be better. I don't think I will read any more after Speaker though.

Great review! I quite enjoyed this book, but I was a little put off by the unbelievable child characters and unrealistic dialogue. Speaker for the Dead, on the other hand, is a 5 star read for me.

That subplot with ender's brother and sister was absolutely ridiculous. It pretty much ruined the book for me and I heard this was the best book of the series, so I decided not to carry on. Maybe if I read this book when I was 14 I would have enjoyed it.
