Regal theater is showing this now in some areas.  Should be as good or better than Disney version in 2017.  This is a French fairy tale.

A friendly reminder
There is no "this is better than the other one"
because both films are completely different, they are based in a totally different script
the french version is based (drt) in the french original version
while the Disney version (drt again) in the Disney Film

Jean Baptiste a tenu tête à sa famille dans une scène du film. C'est quand le père reviens de son expidition. Une des sœurs de Belle dit :se n'est pas toit qui a demandé cette maudite rose. Il dit :se n'est la faute de personnes. Il voulait défendre sa sœur Belle de l'accusation que sa sœur avait faite envers elle. Son père semblait fier que son fils tienne tête à sa famille en disant se qu'il pensait. Ils ont vu que celui-ci aurait été du genre à dire ce qu'il pense même s'ils auraient tenté de l'empêcher de parler. Il ressemble un peu à ma sœur dans certains aspects de sa personnalité. Ceux qui me font penser à elle sont : sa forte personnalité, s'affirme beaucoup, tiens tête aux gens par moment, à du répondant, sa ténacité et son imagination fertile quand il écrit un livre.

The story became a bit lousy at the climax which was quite disappointing. If only the thrill was sustained properly, i might say this version is better than the Disney one. But hey, they're both different adaptation so it's quite tough to judge both films. Both the disney and french adaptation did well in general.
