It's Fun Proving People Wrong. Subaru Outback Goes Where Tacoma Can't.

Our RalliTEK-equipped Subaru Outback is an uber-capable off-road vehicle. We've punished our vehicles for developing products that outperform the competition and won't fail you on the trail.

Sometimes we come across disbelievers on the Subaru platform. We always are willing to teach them about the benefits of utilizing Subaru's in off-road and overlanding applications.

I took my stock outback over a mountain on an old trail following a jeep and a tacoma in order to escape Helene in WNC. It made it. Lots of lumps and bumps and stumps but here we are. 💚

Thats a difference between long and short wheel base.

There was a dude in a Chevy that told me turn around because his truck couldn't make it through some mud pit. I was in a Maverick. I was able to get through without any slipping. The difference was I had the proper tires and he was using highway tires. A lot more goes into off-roading than just buying a bigger truck. Even though I was driving a Maverick, I stand by trucks being an abysmal choice for off-roading. Wheelbases are often too long to take advantage of ground clearance. If you must take a truck, get a single cab with a short bed.

Folks are mad at me for following some trucks over rocks.

Took my buddy out hunting on some property in central Texas in my Outback Onyx XT. Went down into a dry creek bed and back out and he was white knuckling thinking we would get stuck. The owner came around in his Kubota and was shocked we were out there, said other hunters with trucks couldn’t make it most of the time.

Is this a regular outback or a wilderness? I live in Lake Tahoe and have an outback. I rock climb so been thinking of switching to a Tacoma because of the ease of throwing my big crash pads in back and then cutting approach time by hours on high clearance necessary trails. Many people with outback’s don’t go, but I’d almost be down to try and build mine up for fun if it can handle the rocks afterwards!

Being an owner of both vehicles, the Tacoma would drag its exhaust that runs under T-case. After I bout my Tacoma and seen that setup I was severely disappointed

those tires are pretty close to the wheel wells - any mud sandblasting them?

Biggest thing that concerns me is the cvt on the newer ones. I've heard from a few people that they break when off-roading, even lightly. Is there an upgrade for them? Maybe cvt from Ascent swapped into the outback?

I passed SO MANY pulled over jeeps in my outback. If you wanna go, it can!

You are not gonna talk shit about me and my Outback, bro😂

Not the truck, it's the driver and being that these 2 vehicles have identical clearance stock with this Outback slightly higher because of lift/ tires it would clear pretty easily.

It's not about clearance. It's all about wheel base!

My 2005 2.5 XT would definitely clear that

He’s more than likely a horrible spotter as well.

People try and clown my Santa Cruz too lol but the basic fact is that i dont have any differential, shock mounts or transfer case that hangs out for rocks to get. So my lil stock 31s work as well as 33/34s.
