Solo Hiking on Skye with my Camera (...the perfect day in the mountains)

Join me on day two of my three of my solo photography trip to Skye. This was an almost 5 mile loop from Glenbrittle campsite up to the base of the Black Cuillins. Along the way I passed lots of little streams, waterfalls, had epic views all the way to the outer Hebrides, and enjoyed an incredible sunset as I passed the impressive Eas Mor waterfall. I definitely had some challenges along the way, but enjoyed every moment. I always dream of hikes like this where every time I look up, the views take my breath away. Skye, you really spoiled me this time! #fujixt4 #photography #scotland

I know I said I would post this on Sunday but it’s finished early! 😁

For those of you who celebrate Christmas, we hope you have a lovely weekend. Hug your loved ones if you can ❤🎄

Well, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…you are my hero! I was panicking for you a couple of times there! But so much beauty to be seen, felt, heard; I’m sure it’s worth it. And those fluffy white sheep are too sweet. Thank you so much for taking me along. 🥰

This walk looks superb for the views. We will have to make a note to visit. There have been so many times when we have also taken ‘detour’ routes and found the path so very close but hadn’t spotted it when we’ve been trekking and taking photos in the mountains. 😀

Gorgeous! Love hearing you describe your hikes. I can picture myself not noticing the actual trail was a metre away, at least you saw it eventually 😅. You must have taken a TON of beautiful photos on that trek! Have a wonderful weekend!

When I was watching your other video – the one with no talking – I kept thinking, "I wonder how she doesn't get lost? I would get *so* turned around out there." 🙂 I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that occasionally wanders in the wrong direction. Looks like such a beautiful hike. Thanks for taking us along.

Hi, the views are beautiful beyond words.... no wonder you found so much inspiration and had such a joyful day. I look forward to seeing the paintings you will create from your excursion. Take care and look after your knee. xx

Glad to see you using your treking poles. It is OK to take the trail less used, as long as you get back safe to your car before dark!

Are highland/Skye hikes generally stay-on-the-trail hikes, or go-where-you-please?

Beautiful Sarah!!! Merry Christmas 🎄. Was do nice to have your lovely Skye as a consolation that the Christmas Blizzard here in USA means many of us are home and cancelled our family travel plans!!! Beautiful!!!

Well I watched both videos and I enjoyed both videos! Such beautiful scenery and the sheep were so cute. You've really upgraded your hiking gear which is good. I do worry about you hiking alone in such desolate areas, but apparently you were able to get a cell signal out there? I know you had a setback with COVID and your knee (going downhill is worse on knees, I've found), but overall do you think your physical abilities have improved with all the hiking you've been doing? Happy Christmas to you and Wolfie from cold, blizzard-y Iowa.
