Matiang'i's education mission

Education minister Dr Fred Matiang'i now says several universities may be shut down in the New Year for offering substandard education. The CS says an audit of the universities had so far shown that some were admitting unqualified students for degree courses hinting that some degree certificates may also be revoked in future as their holders did not meet the requirements to pursue the said courses.
Matiangi made the remarks in a wide ranging interview with Citizen TV’s Sam Gituku. We began by asking him what he thought about the comparisons being made between him and Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli.

This guy is a rare jewel. Very smart, hands-on, God-fearing and he is a humble servant. By the time he left University of New York he knew he was going back home to work not to just sit in the office reading newspapers. He brings home that work ethic. Very proud of him.
