Here are a few reasons that can dishearten you, and ways you can work past them.

I have still trouble against a lot of bluebelts in my fifth year as a bluebelt. But I also can give some purplebelts hell. I'm also 48 years old and I have no clue if I'm any way close to purple - or if I even want to have it. :)

After you learn to fry an egg, why didn't you continue learning to become a chef?

Sometimes when I go get a coffee, I'm not interested in giving my name and email and starting a lifelong relationship.

Blue belt gives you a general understand of the art and the basics to defend yourself against most people.

Sometimes, that's all people want.

When you are surrounded by others with the same love/interest, it can be difficult to understand how anyone could think differently.

Because they have had enough. They learned and did what they wanted and now it's time for them to move on.

Because they put so much stock in getting the blue to begin with. And are disappointed once they get there. Just train to get better and to heck with the belt you have been assigned by someone else likely most subjectively.

if youre learning bjj for practical reasons i, e if a self defense situation calls for it., then you probably dont need to go further than a bluebelt

unless you cross a higher belt in the street for some reason lol
