Racing single seaters in Formula 4 could be the start of a career in FIA Formula 1 and emulating the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Ayton Senna and Michael Schumacher. Ayrton Simmons is has just completed his rookie season with Arden Racing driving a Formula 4 car which is 1 of the routes leading to formula 1. At 15 he was the youngest driver on the British Formula 4 Championship of the 2016 and was unable to compete at the start of the season as he was 14. Since then he has progressed quickly ending the final round at Brands Hatch on the podium and a number t rookie wins. I speak with this amazing young racer about how he got stared in racing, karting, what his friends and family think about the sport and what he likes doing in his spare time.
The car he races is is a FIA Homolagted carbon monocoque using a Ford Ecoboost 1.6 litre engine producing 160ps. A 6 speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, 2 piston calliper brakes and double wishbone and push rod suspension which has twin adjustable dampers and adjustable anti roll bars.
