There are so many side hustles for retirees. Here are 5 of the best.

Hi, my name is Duane. After a career in the music industry, I retired early on my 59th birthday in late 2021 with just over $500K. Soon thereafter, the stock market (and my portfolio) tanked. This is my early retirement journey.

Hey Duane! Glad I found your channel!!! I retired a little over a year ago after teaching for 38 years! I am 61 now and I do receive a monthly pension. To earn a little extra money and keep my mind active, I teach two days a week at a community college. Not complicated at all and I still have lots of time to do the things I love to do!!! You having been a teacher, could share your skills with young and some older adults.❤

I like the RV idea. I want one and I have an extra driveway to park it on. I never thought about the possibility of renting it out when I'm not using it but that is definitely something I'd do. Thanks for the video!

Duane thank you so much, I may try the RV thing! That is a great idea!! And thanks very much for being so honest and up front about this type of thing. And they are things reg. people can do. I spent most of my life working in factories so I am not very technical. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the ifo and your time.

Enjoy your channel! I officially retired over 2 years ago. I have worked as a part time seasonal ski instructor at local ski resort, starting my 6th season out of 7 ( I was a customer during pandemic year 2020). It's 25 work days minimum. The starting pay 7 years ago was minimum wage, but with certifications and increases after pandemic, my pay has doubled. The best part is free season pass at 2 local resorts, which is great benefit for retirees. Also discounts on food and drinks at resort and retail shop and season tuning for skis. Discounts add up over time.

The best part is free lessons and training from top instructors. Also camaraderie with teaching staff and other employees. It's very multi-generational. Instructor ages range from 20s to sometimes early 80s, between full-time and part-time staff. Even though the winters are mostly cold, I don't mind. I would rather be in multi-generational environment than with all seniors in Florida (and I am a senior in my 60s).

As a part-timer, I mostly teach beginner level. I am often teaching young folks (20s and 30s age range).

Although I would like to teach some higher level classes or private lessons, I have come to realize that more intermediate and advanced level customers paying a big chunk of change $$$ would rather have a younger and more athletic instructor. So I don't mind working with beginners. I get my skiing done on my days off ... for free!

This work keeps me in shape and outdoors. I have had to recently adjust to working fewer consecutive days during busy holiday periods. A day on and then a day off to rest. But overall, I hope to keep doing this as long as I can. Many friends my age have stopped skiing, so now I can find others to ski with from instructor staff.

With the training and certifications I now ski better than I did 20 years ago. Great part-time seasonal retirement job!!!

This is so timely that I stumbled onto your video. I'm in my early 60's, unable to work due to being a full-time caregiver to a disabled son, and in the middle of divorce. Your suggestions have given me a couple of ideas that I know are doable for me.

I substitute teach. Was easy to get certified and no college degree is needed. Two 7.5 hours a day nets me about $150 a week. Thats a extra $600 a month. Most schools have an app that allows you to accept or reject jobs.

I am so happy to have a rental property to subsidize my income. It now rents for $2, 400 and my out of pocket is under a $1000.

If you decide to rent an RV out for habitation on your property (as an VRBO/ABB type rental), make sure your city allows it. Some restrict habitation of anything on wheels, although many will allow ADU/garage conversion rental or permanent up to code stick built building dwelling rental.. Now if you want to rent out your RV as a travel type rental that's usually not restricted in most areas..

The RV idea’s a good one. A co-worker rents out hers when they’re not using it anyway, generally for international tourists going on long holidays, so they only have to do the cleanup at the end & they make some good money from it. I never thought about it as a side hustle tho. I think they do it through an Airbnb equivalent platform. That’s definitely food for thought, thanks!

On a side note. I just discovered a method of keeping up with your vids.
Screw the titles.
I have taken the liberty of re-labeling them as follows, if you don't mind:
The New York city taxicab driver cap vid.
The beatnik beret vid
The retro fedora vid
The baseball cap vid. Keep 'em rollin"

I’ve been hesitant to list my resume but I’m considering a resume service, a bit expensive but they tie in the keywords and post from what I heard

Food delivery is not a bad part time job. You can do it almost anytime you like. Dog walking also.
