In light of the tragic news surrounding former NFL player Mike Williams' passing, Dr. Nemeth addresses the critical connection between oral health and overall well-being.

The initial case summary report released by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office has revealed that Williams' cause of death was dental-related sepsis, following a construction accident that occurred in Tampa, Florida, earlier in September.

The report cites "bacterial sepsis with cerebral abscesses and necrotizing labor pneumonia due to multiple caries and retained tooth roots" as the cause of Williams' untimely death, marking a significant and rare case of dental-related sepsis according to county records.

Dr. Nemeth stresses the importance of prioritizing oral health, highlighting how neglecting dental care can lead to severe health complications. Williams' case underscores the vital connection between oral hygiene, systemic health, and overall well-being. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of disregarding oral health.

As the football community mourns the loss of an accomplished player, Dr. Nemeth emphasizes the need for regular dental check-ups, proper oral hygiene practices, and seeking prompt dental care to prevent potentially life-threatening conditions.

Join Dr. Nemeth as he discusses the critical importance of oral health in preserving overall wellness and the lessons we can learn from Williams' unfortunate passing. Let us honor Williams' legacy by raising awareness about the significance of maintaining good oral hygiene for our overall health.

Our hearts go out to Mike Williams' family and friends during this difficult time.

He got injured on a construction site and was telling his family the staff weren't taking care of him and then when he died the medical examiner put that on his death certificate which doesn't correspond with why he was in the hospital in the 1st place. It only looks like the medical examiner is trying to protect the construction company from a suit

Regardless of the injuries, the dental decay attracts fluid and lymph which tries to clear out dying dental and gum tissue. I have that right now. My molar chipped and I never fixed it so the pulp and blood supply has lymph filling up the spaces . All that fluid has to move the dead dentin out of the area so it goes into the jaw and brain and blood stream . Until my tooth gets pulp regeneration or vital pulp therapy, or gets pulled, I will continue to experience fluid build up everywhere. Even behind my eyes and my bronchial tubes and lungs sinus neck, joints .

So important indeed! Root canals though cause infections, for a dead tooth enters decay immediately. It may be less infection oozing through the tooth, but it is still dead and putrefying.

I'm in Los Angeles. I'm looking for a good dentist and periodontist. What are good ways to know I'm working with a professional? My job is remote, and I don't know people here, so there is nobody I can just ask.

Thank you Dr! I have been through Hell for the past 3 years, after I got C. I am still suffering from long C! I have seen so many Dr’s and specialists who couldn’t tell me what was wrong with me. So many debilitating, systemic health issues. I definitely had some of these before C just not as bad. Severe sinus congestion, ear pain and popping and respiratory symptoms, brain fog, memory loss, severe fatigue, GI issues.
I only found out the TRUTH about oral health 4 months ago and immediately sought out a Biological Dentist to remove my old root canals properly. I’ve had one removed so far, and a mercury filling that was under a metal crown in my mouth that I was unaware my precious Dentist did!! 😮🤬🤬
I go back in 2 months to have these other two pulled. I can’t wait, and I hope I get my life back. This has really ruined my life and more people need to know the truth about root canals!!! They need to be a thing of the past!
Watch the documentary Root Cause!!

I recently was told that I needed grafting that would be 18, 660.00. How are we supposed to have healthy dental care when it's almost unaffordable? I have been keeping my regimine due to preceeding gum and deep.pockets but sometimes I feel like these commercial places try to make more money out of one. I am on disability and I am aware of my mouth history. I've been brushing, flossing and using a waterpik every day 2x daily and I feel no pain and the gums have stopped bleeding. When will they make these procedures affordable?

Dental infections can become very serious if left untreated. Sounds strange but he would’ve likely passed even without the accident happening at all.

This doc is using this article to scare people into his business. I’m local to this doctor and called for the pin point procedure and he’s 2-3 times the cost anyone else locally doing the same procedure. I’ve been told by my dentist my orthodontist and my oral surgeon to stay away from this guy. Remember he’s only replying to this article to scare you into putting money in his pocket.
