Because the women only attract a FRACTION of the money the men earn because the standards are much lower. FIFA gives away thousands of tickets for these tournaments because otherwise people are not paying top dollar for tickets to see the women. The men already subsidize womens sports. It wouldnt exist without the men bringing in the money.
Women also play much fewer games in a season compared to the men.

There is lik no hype for the womens world cup, I see more hype for the 2026 world cup even though thats 3 years away. Obviously if there is no hype not much people are watching it meaning less money earned to give back to the players.

Most sports let see the women play the men. The men would dominate. That’s part why don’t get paid as much.’plus less people watch them play or buy there merchandise.
