About Guarda:
Guarda is famous for its gorgeous old Engadin houses with their unique Sgraffiti decorations. It's also the setting for the beloved Swiss children's story, "Schellenursli" (A Bell for Ursli). The story, written by Selina Chönz and illustrated by Alois Carigiet, is about a boy named Ursli and his quest for the perfect cowbell for the yearly parade Chalandamarz. The book is a big part of Guarda's cultural heritage, and you'll see references to it all around the village.
