The cost of goods has little to do with employment.. producers charge what the market will bear. When you have full employment of prime worker age Americans, the consumers can and will spend money . The marketers will advise the producers to increase prices . The producers will follow the advice until consumers cut spending on pricey items and only buy sale items with historically low cost . Inflation is just gaslighting for ‘how much can we gouge without being accused of gouging ?’
