I've been working problems like these from the book. When i use the method the book gives me and solve it then check the answers i always end up being wrong. I watched your video, attempted the question and checked the answer sheet and i was right. Wasted 30 mins using the books method. Respect

FYI when the z wouldn't cancel out that easy, you would get the 2 variable system of equations which you can solve with elimination, get the answer for one variable then plug it back into one of the equations in the 2 variable system of equations to get the other variable (2nd total). Then plug it all back in into one of the original equations and solve.
