Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is reportedly in talks to acquire a stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, one of Bollywood's leading production houses. The exact size of the potential stake remains unclear. This comes after earlier discussions between Dharma Productions and Saregama India, owned by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, which have yet to materialize. Karan Johar, who owns 90.7% of Dharma, has been looking to sell part of his stake, but past deals have fallen through due to disagreements over valuation.

If the deal with Reliance goes through, it would bolster RIL's entertainment portfolio, which already includes Jio Studios, Viacom18 Studios, Colosceum Media, and a 25% stake in Balaji Telefilms. Previously, Johar also engaged in discussions with Gautam Adani for a 30% stake in his company. Dharma Productions continues to stay active, with recent releases like Jigra and the OTT series Call Me Bae, alongside the upcoming season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
