Why this date concerns Nintendo (not Switch 2 related)

Analysing why the renewal date of the Expansion Pak is an issue for Nintendo.

Since then there's the playtest, Alarmo, Banjo Tooie and others, and now a music streaming service.

I know this forecast might not be as exciting as an individual game or the switch 2, but this might be the best forecast video regarding Nintendo's general strategy in the short term.

Everything lines up, everything makes sense.

I’ve been noticing that Nintendo seems to be adding more and more promotions for their online service this year.

There’s a small one with a one week NSO subscription with Endless Ocean, they had a promotion in July I think where you got gold coins for buying/adding onto a subscription, Mario Party is coming with the 3 month subscription, and they are even giving out a full year of the expansion pack for buyers of the new Zelda Switch Lite.

I’ve been curious about if they have anything coming up on the horizon, perhaps related to the next system.

Speaking of Virtual Boy, it does feel like there could be something somewhat soon as there was a patent made/renewed for the virtual boy and the controller as well. Plus the Nintendo Museum’s Virtual Boy footage being emulated on the Switch too.

The main thing that’s frustrated me into potentially considering cancelling my expansion pack subscription is that they stopped giving us a roadmap of what’s coming in the year.

Also that they seem to still be prioritizing NSO standard games over expansion pack. No. No Nintendo that is not how this works. I expect a new game or multiple every month for this premium version of this service I am paying for.

What Nintendo needs to do is have a set day of the month that is new NSO game day instead of this frustrating drop whenever we feel like it mentality.

I won’t be cancelling anytime soon but these are my reasons if I did.

My prediction: I don't know how likely this is, but I honestly think we're going to get DS games in the Expansion Pack (exclusive to the Switch successor console) before we get GameCube games.

I could see a change in service when switch 2 launches or within the period after it. unifying the apps etc maybe a revamp in service charges, merging current NSO and the Expansion before creating a new tier for new systems that the Switch 2 can emulate easier.
