I remember reading all the books back in grade school and this little animation movie sure was great to watch! Made me cry every time I watched it. This is my 4th time watching it lol 😂

Thanks for the upload! This movie came out when I was 29, and I’m now 37… but I find it so calming for some reason. Almost like ASMR. Little kid me was obsessed with the boxcar children when I was in 3rd grade, and this is an excellent adaptation. It has a timeless feel to it, since I think the original stories were written in the 30s or 40s (?), I’m glad they didn’t modernize it too much.

I'd never heard of this property before, so I don't have any nostalgia for the books that a lot of other commenters mention. But I still found this story to be really sweet and wholesome and surprisingly not boring at all.

No, the animation is nothing special. It's not awful for something obviously made on a limited budget, but it is stilted and stiff in a lot of places. But what it lacks in visual polish it makes up for in story and character and atmosphere. It reminded me in a way of both Stardew Valley and Kiki's Delivery Service, two other excellent properties that offer an engaging, relaxing, but still family-friendly entertainment with minimal violence or icky stuff. This was just honestly good, solid stuff that anyone can enjoy.

I showed this movie to my youngest sister when she was around seven. It was her favorite movie at the time and we would have blanket forts and pretend we were in the boxcar ourselves. It’s one of my favorite memories with her

The Boxcar children was my first favorite book and thing i was a fan of. ever since i was six, i read the books over and over again, and im still collecting as many of the books as i can. i watched surprise island once when i was like 8, so now im watching this one, and im gonna watch surprise island again after this
