Hi Jamie. Thanks for talking about our game and bringing some attention to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Another feature that couples with the scaling difficulty chosen by players during the game, is how the Queen's speed increases based upon how well the team is doing in that game. It's another critical component that ensures there will be tension in the last few turns of the game regardless of skill level of the team.

Wow! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed my game 😁. Thanks for taking the time to cover it.

Here is a little design anecdote that you may find interesting. The game was originally designed as a pure abstract score chaser. When I showed it to North Star, Dominic saw something in the mechanics of the puzzle, but said I needed to find a theme for it in order for it to be considered for publication. I searched for a while trying to find something to fit, and in the end landed on Alice in Wonderland. The Queen being added, and the core tension and chase was almost entirely a product of being pushed to apply and integrate a theme to the game.

Hi Jamie, this is a favourite in my family and I’ve never played this with someone who has not liked it. The thing I love the most about it is that everyone is involved in the conversation at all times. The person who’s turn it is to place a tile can’t talk about their own, but can still be involved in discussing other players cards when they place cubes on your tile. Guessing two cards on one turn is so satisfying! I’ve not played another coop deduction game like that before. I also REALLY love the fact that sometimes the smartest move is giving no clue!! It’s not what I said, it’s what I didn’t say!! 😂.

Love the added difficult scale in this game and the competitive game that did this for me explicitly with objectives was Takenoko cuz you could look at the board state and decide if you like the option of eating bamboo with the panda, growing the garden in a particular way, or growing certain bamboo stalks. But deciding on those objective cards was such a great tension for which part you're at (beginning, middle or end).

Noticed it’s just shown up on BGA. Your “favorite thing” video has convinced me to give it a try. Great video as always!

Yessss! Glad you tried it and liked it!!! This replaced Shipwreck Arcana for me. Way more streamlined and don’t have to worry about a ton of abilities.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your play of this game! I've played it once with my friends and determined very quickly it was not for me although everyone else at the table really enjoyed it. Just felt dry and somehow mechanical. Also happy late adoption 🎉🎉🎉🎉
