The fireworks also go off partially behind partially in front of the beasts castle and being right in the middle is challenging if you wanna watch both

Beasts castle looked small, but not as small as it actually is. It probably looks about 3 to 5 ft bigger, like the main area looks normal room height (8 ish ft tall rather than 4 or 5 ft.) I always wondered why the restaurant was only under the castle though instead of inside it, but if it's THAT small then that explains why (though why make the hill huge and still have the castle small? I think bigger castle, smaller hill, and being able to go into the center if the castle would be better)

Their issue was that they did nothing to make it look "fuzzy" at a distance. Since it looks so crispy and detailed, it gives away that it's actually just small. If they had done something to, say, diffuse the reflections by using an extremely matte material, or even purposefully making the paint job a little blurred, it would have added to the illusion a great deal!

The beast castle is one of the worst illusions disney has done honestly

This is one of the few instances where the forced perspective does not work at all. In person it legit looks like a dollhouse

Beast's castle at WDW absolutely fails at the illusion at least in person. It just looks like a tiny castle on a cliff.

When you see a bird land on top of the castle it REALLY ruins the forced perspective.
