Amazing Destination in Greece - Meteora | Ancient monasteries

Meteora is a travel destination in Greece that you should visit with breathtaking landscape and ancient monasteries.

Etymologically, “Meteora” (Μετέωρα in Greek) means “suspended in the air.”

Visiting monasteries in Meteora:
While temperatures can get painfully high in Greece, especially in summer, you’ll still need to cover your legs and shoulders if you want to visit the Meteora monasteries. Women must wear a skirt and men must wear pants.

Meteora is located near the town of Kalabaka at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios river and Pindus Mountains.

What an amazing place to visit!
The heat must be so oppressive🥵🥵
Very difficult to enjoy touring when you have to engage temps like that.
And only to discover you have to be near fully clothed to visit a particular landmark.
The food looked great, and I'm curious if the gyros are as good as advertised🤔.
I LOVE gyros with Tzatziki sauce.
