The trying to physically Shake it out of your head.. and desperately looking left right up or down in an attempt to exit the flashback as if the biggest fking flatscreen just appeared right there infront of you with everything that youve fighting to forget, to be able to live and move on..

And some people will tell you “just forget about it, don’t think about it” that’s like telling a blind person to hey open your eyes

Staying up until nearly passing out, doom scrolling or reading a book, anything to not be alone in my head where I'm not actually alone because the memories are always there ready to play out in my mind's eye.

This brought me to tears. Not only is that what I do all the time at home. But I know the ugly confusing feelings and thoughts that are happening when I see you do that. 😢 God Bless all with PTSD and stay strong. We’re not alone.

Thanks for this. Some people seem to think that Drs and nurses have superpowers and are immune to PTSD. Thanks for demonstrating that its not that way at all. I’m in a line of work where we see many horrific traumas. We perform in the moment but the worst part is the aftershock. 😢

Add in the depression and anxiety that goes with it.

This is very very accurate I got diagnosed with cptsd and you try not to remember and think about it and it causes you to think about it more it can make you very angry sometimes honestly and the avoiding places that remind you is definitely accurate I havent slept in my own bedroom in months

Basically, you are not able to live in the present moment.

For me it's bouts of stuttering and an uncontrollable shake when I'm triggered. I spend most of my time alone now, in the house, avoiding people and phone calls

It was wild when I learned that ptsd flashbacks don’t look like they do in the movies.

So true and people only think it’s from war if there’s any advice I could give the younger generation is watch how you live your life because the deeper you get involved with stuff the more it’ll catch up with you later on in life through trauma and ptsd we all have that decision how to live our lives I know but sometimes it’s all we know growing up trying to heal from
It can be hard

Thank you so much for educating with compassion and actual understanding. There's so much stigma, sometimes I lose hope. 💜
