Addressing Modes Part 1 | Direct, Indirect, Immediate, Register Addressing Modes | with NOTES

Addressing Modes:
An instruction contains two types of information.
One is the type of operation to be performed.
Another is the location of the operand(s) on which to perform the function: the addressing modes.

Register addressing mode is the most efficient addressing mode because the operands are in the processor itself (there is no need to access memory). Immediate addressing mode can be used to specify constants; thus, it cannot be used to specify the destination operand of an instruction. Operand specified by the immediate addressing mode is part of the instruction and therefore is in the code segment.
