Love for Leftovers

Whether it is scraping the last of the peanut butter from the jar, organizing a book shelf, or picking up after someone else, there are a lot of 'leftover' jobs in the world, just waiting for someone to come along and do them. It may seem insignificant, but it's deeply rooted in being faithful with the little things, overcoming our laziness, greed, and selfishness, and showing love to others. So what are you waiting for?

What is "A Voice in the Desert"?

The purpose of A Voice in the Desert is to point people to the message, rather than the messenger. Most modern day prophets promote themselves more than the teachings of Jesus and the true message of Revelation. A Voice in the Desert challenges that error and more. Some of the things you hear on this channel may be difficult to understand, and may offend you. The goal, however, is to sweep away dogmas and traditions to reveal what Jesus actually taught.

READ THIS FIRST: We have recently opened our videos up for comments. However, the comments are all moderated; they must be approved before they will appear. Please be patient, as this could take a few days if I am busy with other things.

Here are some guidelines if you would like to have your comment approved:
1. Keep it short. This rule is partly to help YOU. People simply will not read long, rambling posts.
2. Keep it relevant. (See also #3 & #4.) Relate what you are saying to the video you are commenting on, or to something said by the person to whom you are replying.
3. No sermons. If you want to preach, do so on your own channel. This is a forum for discussion.
4. Bible references: Say enough to indicate what the passage says, but major on sharing how you think it relates to the topic. Try to avoid chapter and verse references on their own.
5. Rudeness will not be tolerated.
6. No links. This is generally seen as trying to drag people away from this channel to some other channel or site.
7. One point at a time. Many different arguments in the same post do not allow time for two sides to be heard on a single point. Share your best argument (or two), and see what happens.
8. Misinformation based on so-called Internet "research" that is not supported by credible evidence will be deleted.

Reminds me of two things. Jesus collecting left over food saying let nothing go to waste and the fact that Jesus finished the job on the cross. We should follow his example.

I read a page out of your Leftovers book to my church this morning. I really hope it leaves an impact. Planting small seeds for living like Jesus, instead of them just coming to church on Sundays. I’m hoping more people take action to be the church.

Nice message! I totally agree and strive to live this lifestyle but there is always room for improvement.
Sometimes temptation is in the form of wanting to eat out. But I have leftovers in the fridge and there are starving people in the world that I can support with what I save. As a missionary once stated one cup of coffee a week can add up to $20 a month for missions, the poor etc. Lord bless the leftovers!

I pour half a glass of water into my jam jar - shake it and it becomes clean and I pour it into my smoothie or soup. Rabbits / Chickens are great for leftovers also.

Good message. Thanks for sharing. In my own personal experience, I’ve found living off leftovers to be quite freeing. There is so much excess food waste, why buy food?

Perhaps if we call them ‘Remnants’ it would sound more spiritual and we would eat them more. 😊

Leftovers to me are meals for days later tell it’s gone

Leftovers are a luxury that is taken for granted in majority of first world countries.

We can always re-purpose food to give to the homeless

If we have access to the internet, we can always use google for ideas for said leftovers :D
