Ranil Wickremesinghe is a nephew of J.R. Jayewardene and served as a deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Jayewardene’s government in 1977. He has held many ministerial positions since 1977. This will be his sixth time as Prime Minister, although he has never completed a full term.

He was part of the government that organized race riots in 1977 and 1983!

Gotabaya Rajapaksa has selected Ranil Wickremesinghe as the new PM to save the Rajapaksa family and their cronies from criminal investigations and international war crime investigations!

In 2018, the then Finance Minister, Mangala Samaraweera claimed that Ranil Wickremesinghe prevented Mahinda Rajapaksa from becoming an international criminal!

This man is eccentric and eager to be in power. His only wish is blocking any opportunity that Sujith Premadasa is standing for and deserved. Had Sajith been given the opportunity to takeover the position of PM being the opposition leader, with the participation of all the parties in the opposition, the country would have been overcome with the political crisis first and the economic crisis secondly as all the members in the parliament as well as the masses of the country pulling the string in one direction. Now what really happened is Mahinda has been replaced by Ranil who has been an obedient servant of Mahinda. The split of power in the parliament as well as in the country still remain 3/4 against the government and 1/4 with the government. So can anyone expect any developments in the country ???
