I was once assessed for my DLA in a four or five story building... and there was no lift. And they made me go up the stairs! It was agony to get there. They basically were telling people, if you can't get up the stairs then you miss your appointment and won't get benefits, but if you climb all these stairs... you are not sick enough to get benefits and won't get them either.

The only reason I did get my benefits was because I was in so much agony having climbed these stairs, that I was sobbing my heart out and the assessor immediately saw I wasn't faking and told me there and then he would do whatever he could to get my benefits.

Damn right, Adam. I am applying for Personal Independence Payment, and I am terrified this government will deny me. We should not have to continually justify our existence. No other group in society does.

It is absolutely ridiculous what they have done to the disability system.
It was hardly even abused! There is more abuse in the job centre system, where there is absolutely zero verification people even do a damn thing about trying to find jobs. (which a lot of people take advantage of)
And worse yet, people get sanctioned purely on looks, or whether their handler that day was in a bad mood. My friend who had horrific acne at the time was getting sanctioned left, right and centre despite looking for jobs all the time.
Just try bring them up on prejudice charges, it'll get you put on a shitlist for every Job Centre office in the country.

The Tories changes created this HUGE grey area where people are incapable of working a decent living wage, but still capable of SOME work.
They tried to fix it by helping people get in to work. THEN THEY KILLED IT OFF.
They got people IN to work and using less of the welfare bill overall once they were, but killed it off anyway, leaving these people entirely dependent on welfare again because of losing job, ill health, stress, HOME or other reasons shortly after it was killed off.

The entire welfare system should be scrapped and automated. The overhead costs of the DWP alone are through the roof. Never mind the Job Centre, automating that would save billions since it gets rid of the lazy humans that don't verify anything and just sanction with a dice roll. I can write the code to do that job in a minute.
Keep the actually decent employees of worth to do the management of the system and deal with edge cases.
Welfare system saved. Nope. Won't happen. The fake doctors will rebel because they won't be getting any more bonuses for steak and bubbly.

If the UK genocide continues at this pace, and, that its turned into a joke, there is no chance this will be taken seriously - ever. Hundreds of thousands are dying, or committing suicide, those without familial support are dying, yet, Labour politicians stay silent, they should be addressing this every PMQs spell out how the genocide is being carried out, who benefits from it?
