WORD Christchurch was thrilled to host a very special event on 8 February 2018 with the talented and eloquent Nigella Lawson, culinary star and television personality.

Nigella is a champion of the home cook and her book At My Table celebrates the food she loves to cook for friends and family. The recipes are warming, comforting, and inspirational, from new riffs on classic dishes to adventures in a host of new dishes and ingredients.

Animals are not ingredients; that IS where we differ. Traditional Italian cuisine was largely meatless by the way.

She stumbles over her words while speaking. Super annoying

Thank you! This interview with Nigella is absolutely wonderful.

Honestly this talk should've been more in the middle and including all people from the aisle but it's pandering only to the left. Some right talk would've been nice too.

Clumsy people absolutely terrify me, almost anywhere but particularly in the kitchen. My partner is one such person, extremely intelligent but unfortunately they're also dead keen on helping me in the kitchen, insisting in fact that we cook all our meals together. Extremely nerve wracking. I have to constantly second guess everything they do before they do it because I just know things will go wrong. In a second they've burnt themselves, left the pot holders on the pot on the fire and we will all burn to death, touched something they shouldn't have touched, thrown out the stock instead of the bones, scalded their hands, arms legs, It's impossible to think. I freeze every time they move a pot of boiling pasta or hot oil in a pan, I know if I move to the left so will they, if I move to the right so will they however even freezing seems to confuses them, I'm constantly having to scream instructions to avoid disaster . They take umbrage at this and get moody as a result has become like online-gaming for me except the thing frazzled or falling of a cliff, squashed or bonked on the head is trying their damn hardest to also get me squashed bonked or frazzled. Little tip dyspraxia or DCD is helped enormously even in adults with Equine Therapy (riding therapy), horses fix almost anything I find so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

I respect different types of chef's,
it all goes down to skill and creativity.
But I agree with Nigella's take on food snobbery... most food snoobs don't understand anything about food.

What's wrong with Daily Mail Nigella - you're too intelligent and with it to make such a statement.

The "sugar-free cake" thing could have been because the woman was diabetic and wanted a Nigella dessert recipe SHE could safely eat...

On her show she was shown eating on her sofa watching TV and calling that heaven so...contradictory.
