DFTM is still one of the craziest, most thought out and best executed ARGS or like, things, ever. The SpongeBob Theories were probably calculated as the single easiest way he could get videos to go viral fast, and then he went and made them really really good to secure that. And they did, he was right, so the storyline that it was a big tentacle monster giving him this sudden success was able to play out smoothly and believably. I’m not explaining this very well. The point is that a year on, the DFTM saga still lingers in my mind as one of the coolest projects I’ve ever seen on YouTube.
