So air takes the path of least resistance, which means that there is some resistance through the CO2 scrubber, how does this affect air intake as compared to a long hose that goes outside?

Hi guys. Could this be achieved using the Neptune Apex Solenoid?

Why did you run 3/4 return lines on the BRS 160, when the L1 is an inch?
Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Do you think a 2 1/2 to 3 foot fresh air line is too long? You mention that it may restrict the flow if you make it too long? What is the maximum length that you recommend? By the way great video. I really learn a lot. Thank you.

when running an airline from outside, consider a carbon filter near the outside end to filter out pesticides, bugs, and crawly things...A 12volt solenoid with a 12v wall wart is much safer as well.

Could your ph rise above 8.2 by running a line from the skimmer outside?

My ph is running around 7.97 at night. How long did the media last. I am using a 550 tlf unit. Did you have to change the media more then once a month

What happened when you diden't use the solenoid did the ph go above 8.4

The NC or NO needs to be taken into account depending on your application. Meaning, you want to energize the solenoid the least amount of time (less energy and mainly heat generated and more life for your solenoid). In your case, since the majority of the day the valve is open, you are better off installing a NO (normally open) valve and only energize and close it for the short amount of time you need to close it. Not a huge difference, just a matter of optimizing your application and life expectancy of your equipment.

That is a 3/8" solenoid correct? How do you connect it to 1/2" tubing? I did not see a 1/2" fitting on the website.

BRS - thanks for the videos, I went all in and did 2 solenoids to help control consumption of the media. I saw someone else comment on the 24dc version and I went that way because of the the safety factor. After an hour, the heat from the solenoid was so extreme it would burn upon touch. Both of them were like that, so I don't think it was a case of a bad solenoid. My question is what is you experience with heat build up with the A/C version? How are you managing the heat. As pointed out in some other comments, they are probably going to run half a day for each one. Are you aware of a solenoid that doesn't have to stay energized the whole time. I will be contacting McMaster's but wanted your experience as well.
Thanks
