I remember the good old days when I thought they were gonna meet up and watch Nic Cage movies together and as they grew closer they'd slowly but surely balance each other out...
BUT NOPE! She died, got worse, got better BUT the moment she got better the STUPID STUPID STUPID "Retcon" happened so now the Vriska that at least tried to better herself is no longer canon, got cucked by her new canon-self and they made it a point of showing her die via English so she's gone gone.
The new canon Vriska is here and she's so awful I honestly believed at the time that she was intentionally made to be a caricature of OG Vriska's worst qualities, all the talks with John, all the self loathing, all the regrets, those were all gone replaced with pride and self justification so what was left was an awful character constantly being rewarded for her awful behaviour.
Now, I'm not a very hopeful person but I do hold on to the tiny hope that in Homestuck 2 when she starts becoming her ultimate self she'll be absolutely bombarded with all her alternate-selves regrets and failures and that that'll maybe humble her enough to not be such a massive prick... but who knows maybe it'll make her worse.
