Obama on married life as president: 'We went through our rough patches'

Former US president Barack Obama discusses how his marriage was affected by the constant pressures that come with being US president. 
In an interview for Apple TV, Obama told Oprah Winfrey he and wife Michelle 'went through our rough patches in the White House ... but I tell you that the thing that I think we were good about was talking stuff through, never losing fundamental love and respect for each other, and prioritising our kids'

While I may not agree with some of the things he’s done, I can tell that Obama is an incredibly introspective person that takes the time to think before he talks and takes action. What people did to michelle obama was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I remember being around 10 years old when he was elected and reading really horrible comments about Michelle and her body. I remember how prevalent it was online. How she and her husband emerged from that is beyond me. It’s still as prevalent as ever based on this comment section too, sadly

Maybe listening to what people say. Like an audition of a musician behind a curtain prevents prejudice and increases concentration. Loved the decision to invite your mother-in-law to live with you.
